Hi,

Apologies in advance if this is not the appropriate forum for my query.

We have been using the Squish testing tools to perform some basic testing of our application with varying degrees of success.  At the time that we previously reviewed testing tools Squish appeared to be the best option for testing a GDC based application.

With the recent improvements in the GWC and our adoption of HTML5 we are reviewing our testing tool requirements and have been quite interested in the TOSCA Testsuite by Tricentis.

Does anyone have any experience with TOSCA and testing a Genero based application?

Are there other test tools that people are successfully using to test their Genero based application?

Regards,

Hi Glen,

Concerning our internal testing for GAS/GWC, we have used Selenium and are now using an internal homemade tool (which isn't meant to do applicative test). So we don't have any particular opinion/knowledge on Tosca tool.

Hi Guney,

Thanks for the reply.

Your internal tool sounds interesting.  Can you elaborate?  It would be a very nice addition to the Genero Suite.

We currently use Selenium for testing of the Java components of our application but doesn't touch 4GL. The GWC makes Selenium an option for 4GL as well.

Hi Glen,

The internal tool we are using isn't yet a finished and ready to publish tool. So we can't yet communicate about it. In the future, when it will be reliable enough, we could make it available. But it isn't the case for the moment.
Meanwhile, my advice for you is to keep on using Selenium tool.

Best regards,
Guney
