Hello,

The 3 developers in our company have the same Amazon WorkSpaces running Windows Server 2016. Among other versions of Genero we have Genero 4.01.01 installed.

I can open our application using Genero 4.01.01 and run reports and everything works as it should. My colleague runs the same application on her WorkSpace but her reports fail with the following error:

Exception at document location :
Program stopped at 'PrettyPrinterStyleSheet.4gl', line number 213.
FORMS statement error number -6000.
 FLM-1 - Internal error.

FLM would seem to indicate a license problem, so we uninstalled and reinstalled the license with no luck.

We tried deleting the license.dat and reinstalling the license again no luck.

So this morning we uninstalled Genero Studio 4.01.01 and reinstalled everything and still reports wouldn't be produced.

We updated Java this morning, but that just seemed to be a normal maintenance update.

Reports are still being produced correctly in her Genero 2.41.45 version of our application, so I think that rules out there being a problem with Java.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks,

Carl

Hi Carl,
I don't remember seeing this error before.
For a quick resolution I suggest to contact the support with this issue.
Best regards,
Alex

That error has been reported a few times to the support desk, suggest double-check Java related environment variables.  Not set, pointing at 32 v 64, that type of thing.  Also way back in older GRW such as 2.41, at install time some environment information was hardcoded into GREDIR/bin/greportwriter.  So you may find that it works in 2.41 because of what was written into GREDIR/bin/greportwriter at install time rather than what your environment is set to.

The Java Environment Variables looked fine: java8path and javapath, which a Java install sets. Even doing 'which java.exe' in a Command Prompt found java.exe.

It was only when we decided to uninstall and install Java did we see that we were now installing the 64-Bit version.

Thanks,

Carl
