Kerning is the act of adjusting the space between adjacent characters in a proportional font.

It was something I had not come across until investigating a support issue where the user was reporting that there was some data corruption as a space character between two characters was being removed.  Upon closer investigation the space character was there, it was just that font kerning was taking place and making the space between the two characters smaller.

A word such as AWAY will show if font kerning is taking place.  If font kerning is taking place all the letters will overlap vertically and the word will render narrower than if the individual letters do not overlap.

Whilst there is no dedicated syntax in Genero to enable/disable font kerning, it is something that can be enabled/disabled if needed via GBC Customisation.
