Customer encountered connection issues from Windows GDC

First time poster,
Remote customer that has (had) a working VPN connection. No known configuration changes. User is able to connect to VPN, gets a LAN address, can browse to a printer configuration web screen (URL 192.168.1.n) -- seems clean enough. When attempting to launch GDC to connect to our application, user gets this message:
"All model windows must be closed in order to quit GDC"
We have not experienced this situation. Suggestions?
Howard
PS This message is slightly better than "All your base are belong to us" :)

Hi Howard,
This error usually happens when you attempt to leave GDC whereas there is still a login box displayed (see the screenshot).
What I don't understand is why it occurs when you attempt to launch your application. Perhaps the -X option (for closing GDC if there is no longer an application or terminal running) is triggered at the time your login box is displayed...
But it would be probably necessary to know the content of the command line or to get the shortcut (.gdc) that executes your application before drawing conclusions.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Lionel

Thank you for the response, Lionel.
Subsequent discussion with the customer leads us to the same conclusion you post. We are dealing with a remote customer whose VPN is giving some of their remote users trouble. The challenges here are: I was on the phone with a network tech who was remote connected to the end customer machine; the end user saw this error message once and has not occurred again.
Thanks. Problem is not solved nor have we isolated the problem as "network" or "application(s)" but we may close this discussion.
