Just on the error message

4.01 and earlier versions, you would typically have a front-end that had the same X.YY version number as the back-end. Hence that error message.

In 5.00 we changed the way we deliver front-ends.  See the comment "Genero Front End Delivery" in the announcement, https://4js.com/2024-genero-enterprise-5-00-available-now/
Entry in Genero BDL Upgrade Notes https://4js.com/online_documentation/fjs-fgl-manual-html/#fgl-topics/fgl_whatsnew_500v.html
Entry in GBC Upgrade notes https://4js.com/online_documentation/fjs-gbc-manual-html/#gbc-topics/gbc_whatsnew_50000.html

and I did an Ask-Reuben article which tells a bit more ... https://4js.com/ask-reuben/ig-223/

So now ...

Front-end X.YY >= Back-end X.YY

... which meant we needed to take out the check that Front-end X.YY = Back-end X.YY
This occurred in FGL 4.01.04

Hence  the addendum at the end of that article, and also if you notice the warnings here ...
https://4js.com/online_documentation/fjs-genero-manual-install-html/#genero-install-topics/c_gdc_install.html#c_gdc_compat_500
https://4js.com/online_documentation/fjs-genero-manual-install-html/#genero-install-topics/c_gbc_install.html#c_gbc_compat_500

So if you see that error, chances are you are using FGL 4.01.03 or less.

Hope that helps,

Reuben
