Operating Systems and Databases de-supported in 2023

Due to the end for support of some operating systems, databases, and third-party tools by their providers,
Four Js will stop the support of the following platforms, and databases for all versions of Genero:

  • The operating System Windows Server 2012 -> Microsoft support will end the support on October 2023
  • The database PostgreSQL 11.x -> PostgreSQL will end the support on November 2023

New Linux distribution list supported in 2023 for Genero 4.01:
  • Ubuntu 22.04 in replacement of Debian versions -> we will start the QA tests Q1 2023
  • Rocky 8.x and 9.x in replacement of Centos 8 and higher
  • Four Js will discontinue the support of Debian

Warning: RedHat, and Rocky 8.6 and higher (not version 9.x) have an issue with QT libraries that makes Genero Studio(GST),
and Genero Desktop Client (GDC) unusable. During our tests, we didn't encounter such problem with RedHat/Rocky version 9.x.

Remember:

Keep also in mind that lots of you are working with RedHat, Centos, and Oracle Linux version 7.x. June 2024 is the official end of support date of this OS distribution version. One year to update some servers is not a lot of time. :)

Question:

Do you, or one of your customers, work on Linux RedHat on IBM Power 64bit architecture? If the answer is yes, please contact your support center.  If nobody answers, we will remove this port from our supported platform list end of 2023.

Four Js wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
