 Genero Mobile For Android (GMA)

Four Js will discontinue support of Android 4.x (API 14 to 19) for our next Major release of Genero Mobile for Android 1.40.x.

As shown in the following table (which lists the history of the Android versions and the delivery of the security patches for each), security patches are now unsupported for all Android 4.x: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_version_history (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_version_history)

The Android Open Source Project web site provides official version information: https://source.android.com/setup/start/build-numbers (https://source.android.com/setup/start/build-numbers)

Why does Four Js continues to support Android 5.x, given that there are no more system updates from Google?

There are many low cost smartphones and tablets that are currently sold with Android 5.x installed; therefore Four Js continues support of Android 5.x. However, Four Js encourages you to develop GMA application for Android 6.x at a minimum.

For any questions or requests regarding this subject, please contact your local support center.

Best regards,

Four Js Development Tools.
