Title: Accessing database Microsoft SQL Server 2005 from SCO UNIXWARE Post by: Paolo D. on October 29, 2008, 03:07:44 pm Hi.
I'd like to connect my Genero Bdl, installed on a SCO UNIXWARE 7.1.4 to a database Microsoft SQL Server 2005, running on Microsoft 2003 Server platform. Is it possible ??? In directory dbdrivers, I have: -rwxr-xr-x 1 informix informix 20156 ott 13 2006 dbmdefault.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 informix informix 20156 ott 13 2006 dbmifx9x.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 informix informix 52856 ott 13 2006 dbmora81x.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 informix informix 35048 ott 13 2006 dbmpgs81x.so I miss the file dbmsnc9x.so (??) Is it possible this connection ?? Or is possible only with BDL on Windows machine ??? Thanks in advance. Connect a Microsoft SQLserver DB from a Unix is not simple, you need to install a third part client application/driver like FreeTds on your unix server. But with SCO operating system everything is more difficult and we didn't succeeded in installing FreeTds on SCO. Therefore there will be no Genero drivers FreeTds for SCO. Solution : With the next Maintenance release of Genero 2.11 (it will be available soon), there will be a FreeTds driver available on the following platform : * FreeTDS (ftm90) now available on Linux 32 and 64bit, AIX 5.3 64b, Solaris 64b and HP 64b. May I ask you if your company can plan to change the OS ? :) Thank you and regards, Olivier ECKERT - Four J's Support |
