I was just wondering if anyone has had luck installing GDC on a thin client, if so what client did you use ??

We have installed the GDC on Wyse - Windows XP thin clients. These were upgraded from GDC 1.31.1e to 2.22.03 and then 2.32.08. The upgrade from 1.31.2e to 2.22.03 caused us to purchase USB sticks because the internal disk was not large enough to contain the larger GDC.

We have also installed the Four J's WTK on a Linux thin client and are soon to be upgrading these to run the GDC as well.

We also have two other clients running the GDC from thin clients as follows:

1. Wyse thin clients with Wyse O/S, runs a citrix client to connect to a Server 2003 server. We run a VB script to configure the Port, the GDC runs on ports starting from 6400.

2. HP Linux thin clients connecting via the RDP client to a 2008 Terminal Server. The ports are handled automatically by the GDC.

...

... to avoid unnecessary alarm, I'll clarify the above.  Those particular clients had 200MB drives.  Before the GDC was installed there was approximately 40MB free.  The 1.3x GDC used <5 MB.  When that customer migrated to 2.2x GDC, which took slightly less than 40MB, suddenly space became an issue.

The 2.4x (and 2.3x) GDC have been on a diet and should come in at less than 30MB.

Lesson is if installing onto the thin client itself, check disk space.
